A Word From Jenny

June 21, 2011

TO: G-II and Lori

Subject: Short Sale

I just wanted to say thank you, though that could possibly never be enough for how much you have done to help me during this stressful time.  I, like many others, purchased my home when the market was high. I was so excited since it was my first home. They had just dropped the price so I thought I was getting such a great deal. Boy was I wrong. The market fell fast and so did the price of my house, going from $202,000 to $90,000. I also   stopped getting bonuses at my job and after my accident most of my money was going towards medical bills.

I tried working with Bank of America and joined the Hope for Homeowners program. After a year of calling, sending paperwork and waiting, my new Modification arrived in the mail. I opened the package and broke into tears. It was a joke. They lessened the payments for a year and then they started going up, and in the end, they would be more than I was paying now. They did not revise the amount due, meaning I could never leave my house. I didn’t know what to do. I was so upset.

I was torn with the thought of short selling my house. My good friend Suzanne and boyfriend Rusty suggested I give you a call to discuss my options. The best decision I ever made. I invited my dad over for moral support during our first call. After I got off the phone I felt instantly relieved. I had a plan. For the first time in a long time, I felt hope that I could fix my financial situation.

Upon meeting you both in person I instantly felt a connection, like I was meeting up with an old friend. I felt so relaxed and knew I was in good hands.

So many homes in my neighborhood were for sale and so many were going into foreclosure. I also put my home for sale right before the holidays, which is not a good time. Traffic was constant but no offers. Finally, the offers started coming in. Not one, not two but three! I was so excited. You said it would be a rollercoaster but the next thing I know I’m sign my closing documents.

Then, the ride started. The buyer walked away. But you would not just let that happen. You fought hard for the earnest money to be given to me. Soon after receiving your call regarding the situation, I received a check in the mail. Yes, my house was not sold, but the check made up for some of the disappointment. Not two days later, another offer was on the table and quickly accepted.

This time the buyer did not walk away. Now my home is sold. I could not have gotten though this mess without you both. From dealing with the Bank, to dealing with offers, to calming me down and making sure all was right. Like I said, I can not thank you enough.

Thankfully yours,

Jennifer Bachmann
